Ruby-crowned kinglets are mostly gray they have thin legs with a gray chest the underpart of the wings are mostly gray and the top part of the wings are mostly grayish but with a little bit of white and a little of yellow. The male ruby-crowned kinglet has a red crest on the top of its head. Ruby-crowned kinglets eat mainly insects such as beetles, spiders, ants, wasps and caterpillars but they also eat a small amount of seeds and berries. Ruby-crowned kinglets in the spring stay in the northwestern part of the united states and stay in big forests that have lots of pine trees they also live in the eastern part of the united states, ruby-crowned kinglets live in meadows, fields, mountains and forests. Ruby-crowned kinglets nest in old trees in forests and mountains.
