Male cardinals are bright red with a red crest on the the top of their head they look like they have a black mask that surrounds their beak they also have orange beak and the underpart part of their wings are mostly gray and red orange and the top part of the wings are gray and red male cardinals have a red back and chest. female cardinals have a yellowish gray body and also have a yellowish crest the underpart of their wings are gray and red orange the top part of the wings are also gray and red orange they also have a yellowish back and chest. Cardinals eat insects like mealworms, spiders and caterpillars they also eat a variety of berries like wild grape, mulberries, dogwood and serviceberries but they also eat seeds like sunflower seeds. Cardinals live by forest and shrubby areas throughout North America and they also like to live by parks and woodlands.
